Leaders are made in storms, not in sunshine. Hard times make great heroes. For those of us who have positions of leadership, this is our Robben Island moment. And this is the time for us to show vision, even if people laugh at us. This is a time for us to get our facts right. This is a time for us to show strength, honesty, communication, bravery, to the people who follow us.
World-class leaders are masterful communicators. Forget about the language of hate. Forget
about the language of victimhood. Forget about the language of can’t. Your job as a leader is to be a possibilitarian and to bring hope and light. There’s a great line, it’s not my line, but you can curse the darkness or you can light the candle. And your job as a leader is to light the candle right now.
