They reaffirm the gifts and promise and potential and power of their team and of their family, and of their clients. They literally go through their days leaving people better than they found them when they spot an opportunity.I was walking into the hotel and I just ran into the valet out front, I guess they call it the doorman, and his name is Alberto and he always has a smile, and we started chatting and he said, “Did you go for a run this morning?” I said, “No.” I said, “I went for a long walk.” And he said, “Oh, I talked to a top cardiologist who said that going for a long walk, it’s so much healthier than even running.” And then I said, “Alberto,I got to tell you every time I see you, you’re smiling.” He goes, “Well, that’s just who I am.” And so he was a great example or is a great example of a reaffirmer. Someone who always has something nice to say, always is smiling. And I think the job of a leader is to leave people better than he or she found them.
