Fasting has been so helpful to me. First person I ever saw fasting was my mother. She would fast every Monday when I was a kid and through my adolescence, and she did it for religious reasons, but if you look at a lot of the great saints and movement makers, they fasted to build self-discipline. Here’s an interesting piece of neurobiology. Fasting releases BDNF, brain-derived neurotrophic factor. So, that’s why I realized when I fast, my mind is so clear and I can process ideas so much better. Intermittent fasting, fast for a number of hours every day, it will put your system into autophagy. Autophagy will cleanse toxicity from your system. Quite extraordinary.
